Frequently Asked Questions

Where do you teach?

Private classes can be done at any suitable pool in Hanoi, including the private pool at your residence.

Public swimming lessons will be held in selected pools. Take a look here to find all public swimming classes in Hanoi.

How long before I can swim?

During the first lesson the instructor will do an assessment of the level of every student.

The total Swim England ‘Learn to Swim’ framework consists of 7 stages, each level takes about  5 to 8  lessons to complete (depending on the students abilities).

At stage 3 and 4 you will see your kids being able to swim short distances. From stage 5 on we will work on perfecting all strokes to the Swim England standards.

When can my child stop swimming lessons?

Students in the Swim England ‘Learn to Swim’ stage 4 and 5 are confident and comfortable in and around the water. They will be able to swim all strokes up to 25 metres.

If you really want your child to be competent and proficient in water, and have the ability to survive and self-rescue, we strongly advice you to let them complete all stages.

Who is the teacher?

We work with expat teachers from different countries, all are qualified and experienced swim instructors.

At SwimFun Hanoi all teachers use the same successful Swim England Learn to Swim programme. It consists of 7 stages, during the first session the teacher will see in what stage the student can start.

What is your cancelation policy?

We believe that it is very important for students to have a consistent learning environment in order for them to reach their full potential. Rescheduling on a regular basis negatively affects classes and your child’s progress. We ask that you only reschedule classes for illness and serious conflicts.

Private classes:

Students in private classes are able to cancel a class if the parents inform SwimFun Hanoi 24 hours before the lesson. If the lesson is canceled less than 24 hours before the lesson starts, SwimFun Hanoi has the right to charge 50% of the lesson fee. If the class is canceled within 2 hours of the start of the lesson, there will be no refund.

Public classes:

Students in public classes do not have the option of cancelling a class, and if a class is missed there will be no refund.

Any class that is cancelled by SwimFun Hanoi will be rescheduled. Once a rescheduled class has been booked, it can not be rescheduled.

What happens if weather is not good?

Outdoor classes will continue in the rain but not in dangerous conditions. Outdoor classes will be canceled if there is lightning or hard persistent rain.

If a class is canceled due to weather, the class will be rescheduled. The decision to cancel a class due to bad weather has to be made at least 2 hours before the start of the class. If you choose not to come to a class because of the weather but we have not canceled the class, please follow our cancelation policy.
